Major GFX Facelift!

I dedicated this whole week to graphics which inevitably came with bug fixes as well. Regardless, I'm quite happy with the results.


I discovered that I can use sprites bigger than the size of tiles in the tilemaps. This means that I now can create overlapping objects as seen in this video. However, now I have to redesign the obstacles function that is responsible for mapping the walkable and non-walkable tiles. After this, I can resume GFX design.

Definitive Flora Artwork On The Works

I was truly sick of looking at that place-holder artwork that didn't reflect the appearance of the landscape where the game unfolds, which is in the exoplanet Kaprical. Below is the first set of GFX that reflect the planet's appearance.


The terraforming process will affect all current stones and rocks and I will add a myriad of new vegetation and other details.

Units Get a Voice!

I went full throttle with the voice-acting thingie. Doing robot voices is easy but giving voice to human characters is trickier, especially when you don't like to hear your own voice.


I can say I'm pleased with the results and I think I can pull it off on my own, even though I'll modify some of the sounds and further tune them. My wife will try to give voice to the female characters; let's see how it turns out! :)
